Michele Letendre and Trevor James,
winners of the ECC "True Grit" award presented by Reebok.
Recovery Day
Rachel Martinez finished the ECC in 4th place behind Fortunato, Valenzuela and Tovar.
Last year she help CFNE finish in 2nd place at the Games.
This year she is going individual.
Great article, seems like you have a real gem on your hands with Rachel coach. Best of luck to her and the whole CFNE team in the upcoming season. James Hobart still = one of my favorite athletes ever.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Rachel.
ReplyDeleteBeing in 2nd place at the last event got me super hyped up! Games here she comes!!
Good luck Rachel, I would gladly trade some of my height (for wall balls) in exchange for some of your work capacity.
ReplyDeleteI bet there's alot of ladies in the North East Region that are not overly thrilled with this announcement.
ReplyDeleteFor all the people following this program that are in the US, can I ask that you please post any good tips and strategy you might feel helpful for the first open WOD after its announced. Us folks over in the Asia time zones will be asleep when everything is getting released and would be great to wake up to people sharing thoughts and strategy on the first open wod when we wake up. Thank much
ReplyDeleteLast year, Ben and CFNE released videos shortly after each announcement to lay out strategy for each open wod. I am certain there will be discussion on here, but I'd search on YouTube for strategy vids. Barbell Shrugged, Outlaw, and others also put out videos so there will be many choices.
ReplyDeleteYeah Mark I'm familiar with that, but also great to get the actual people who are following this program to discuss as well. Good to hear it from the actual athletes too
ReplyDeleteHi everyone, just wanted to say good luck to all the athletes during the open!
ReplyDeleteSo here's a link to a Built By Bergeron leaderboard I made. I put in all the names I could find, and multiples of the common names since there's no way to tell who's who (Michael Johnson, Jonathan Martinez).

If your name is not on here and want to be added, post your full name today and I'll add you or you can copy/edit a new list and share with the group.
I included men only on this one. I can do a ladies one if you all post your full names too..
DeleteMark, if you don't mind adding me I'd like to see how stack up with you guys. My profile is under "Andrew Hinnant" not Drew though.
DeleteThanks for making this man. Looking forward to seeing how everyone does. Good luck.
Thanks Mark - Chris Miller (#52736)

DeleteYeah I think there are 4 people with the same name as me. I'm the only unaffiliated one in Europe. Hope that helps.
Good luck to everyone competing!

Ok. AMRAP10: 30 DUs 15 snatches 75/55
ReplyDeleteWhat do you all think? Muscle snatch the whole time or switch to power? Unbroken as long as possible, or break it up? Discuss...
Treat it like an emom. But extend to 1:10 or 1:20..see what happens
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the standards video, I saw you're allowed to c & J or snatch. This may be helpful if your shoulders totally go out and you can't hang on anymore in the later rounds.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to "try" to keep from muscling it up and focus on dropping my ass between reps to save my shoulders and back.
You can also clean and jerk so maybe switch to clean and jerk at around the 7 minute mark if the snatches are starting to go too slow.
ReplyDeleteI want in. Steven Twilley. Thanks.
