  1. 14.5 - 15:07... was looking to hit 15 or less so not bad. All planned rep schemes went out the door during the 18's and I just kept moving as much as I could.

After much thought I've decided to take 10 weeks and tackle the Get Ha-uge cycle. Once complete I'm back to the Open programming and hopefully with a bigger "can"... pun kind of intended :)
I truly enjoy this programming and have seen a huge improvement from last yr's Open! I know that one of my biggest weaknesses is my max strength and power endurance. I haven't really, truly focused on building that part of my fitness, so I want to give it it's full due. I'll be looking in daily to see how you guys are doing!

    1. Josh, you have more details about the cycle? Thanks!

    2. Look at July 21st 2012.... that's when the last Get Huge cycle was ran. Lists the template and talks about the programs.

  2. Ben or others.... I'm looking to start following a competitors program come Monday morning, and I stumbled upon this site. I read the programming philosophy, but I'm not sure If I should be doing Open or Regionals. Any advice?

I'm still relatively new to CF. I just hit my 5 month anniversary in the middle of the Open. It's looking like I'm going to place around 750ish in the Mid-Atlantic region. I realize I have about a 0.01% chance of making Regionals in 2015, but I was wondering what the downside to doing the Regionals programming is versus just doing the Open programming at my current level?

    1. The regionals programming is more about volumizing. Alot of strength. In the open programming, you work a lot more skill. If you have a solid strength background, the open is probably for you.

    2. The same for me. If you read the prog philosophy, Regio prog is for you if you are SURE to qualify so the open is not your ultimate goal. With your place, I think Open is for you.
In terms of strength, and I'm 100% with ben's philosophy, to perform at the Open, you don't need huge maxes. I think 150kg squat/100-110kg C&J/80-85 kg Snatch is good base. I have followed Invictus comp blog during more than a year and my numbers have improved, greatly, but I'm still place the same (worse) than last year (as the number of participants have grown a lot in europe) and my strength did not helped me to perform well at 14.1, 14.2, 14.4 and 14.5 !
      My 2 cents

    3. @Jay83 - Great advice. By any chance, are you or anyone you know following CompWod programming in central London?

  3. Did 14.5 today. Finished in 13:24. Mentally checked out on this. Was thinking of every excuse in the world to quit.
