I ended up waiting until Saturday to do 14.2 back was super tight last week
Ended up with 195... would have loved to get into the 200's and get into the 18's but my hand ripped open so early... just had to power through the blood
Just wondering if there is a Built by Bergeron female leaderboard?
Will do posted work tonight! Goodluck to all re-doing!

Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do 14.2 after a pulled a muscle in my lower back last Monday. Showed up at Michael's gym in Tampa and almost had to crawl out. Completed 1 rep this morning just to have a score and it felt good, so I kept going.

  12. Waited til Saturday to do attempt one because crazy sick friday - 182. 188 today - extremely disappointed - C2B are very strong for me, but grip gave out out of all things. 2 WODs limited by grip so at least there is an obvious weakness to train in the coming year. Enough griping - on to 14.3.

    2. Thanks Mike, everyone on this board is improving. I bet if we all looked back at where we were to where we are at now there would be stark differences. On the improvement side of course. 6 months ago I couldn't even OHS the bar or get 30 DU's in a row or think of getting a clean & jerk of 225, but it's all happened due to Ben's programming and dedication. Still have a lot to gain and improve upon and I look forward to that.

  22. Re-did 14.2. One rep improvement. 131. Like in 14.1, grip was the limiting factor, as was general efficiency on the CTB. I am making a list for 2015.

Agree...this is a VERY impressive group of people! Motivating, positive and helpful!

got docked a couple of reps so now the official 14.2 is 170...still happy with making it to the 16's...

    3. I thought I was going to get into the 16's today. I had a good pace, but dropped my 14th OHS on the second round, probably lost 30 seconds in that debacle. Only had about 20 seconds to crank out some pull-ups and I literally could not hold onto the bar.

I am just hoping 14.3 lets me rest my shoulders and grip a little.

Again, great job. You should be very proud.

    4. Also, did some punishment work (modified version of Saturday's Open work):

  29. Open 14.2 = Lesson Learned

Friday: 64 reps (with 6-7 no reps)
Saturday: 39 reps WAY too eager and a big mistake. I wasn't ready mentally or physically.
Monday: 74 reps The pressure was on. I deleted Saturday's WOD because I was so disgusted, and Friday's wasn't valid. Damn, that was a close one.

I would have loved to make it to the next round, but my pull ups just aren't there yet, so I'll take the 10 rep improvement and RUN! If Castro programs any more pull ups this year, I am prepared to hunt him down.

Friday and Monday's videos are posted if you click on my name. As always, all feedback is welcome. Thanks!

    1. Had a little free time at work today and watched your video. Way to stick to those pull ups man! Keep working and they'll come. OHS depth was DEEP! Very solid workout.

      Delete
    2. Awesome drive and perseverance! Dude, your OHS are solid! great depth and they look awesome at the top too. I thought your pacing was excellent, which is probably how you were able to get a 10 rep improvement in spite of doing it 3x in 4 days!

But dude, I'm worried the video submission standards are going to be the reason for your rejection. I'm def not an expert here but I know the judges friggin' invalidate videos because there's no 2nd person in the shot and movements aren't clearly seen. Its obvious you are getting c2bs, but I'm worried some judge is going to invalid your video because you can't actually see your chest hit the bar.

      Delete
    3. Thanks guys - I appreciate the feedback. And Chris G, I hear you...and I hope that they don't invalidate for not having a 2nd person because it just doesn't make sense. Last year I dragged my kids into the video, but I didn't want to torture them this time around ;o) Back to practicing...

      Delete
    4. Good work Jon, nice improvement! Your OHS look great and solid. For the pull-ups, it is hard to tell from the angle, but it looks like you really muscle them, you may want to be more aggressive with your hips (I'm no expert, but that is what I'm told I do as well). Nice garage set-up!
