  1. 14.1 second attempt:
280, a 14 rep improvement!! Stuck w/ snatch the entire time, just didn't feel efficient w/ C&J. Still not the 300 goal I set for myself, but I'll take the improvement!!

  2. Nice improvement Josh - I'll be pumped if I can do the same!

  3. You can do it Jon!! Funny I watched a vid of Froning doing 14.1 and just watched the fluidity of his snatching. Really focused on trying to make the movement fluid, straight bar path, body alignment, etc. While my forearms were smoky the limiting factor was just my conditioning.... and I used the hook grip around the 3rd rd again and I think it helped me.

    1. Hey man....where did you find that vid of froning doing 14.1?

    2. H, I think he might be referring to the one that is actually from 11.1 when he did it with a group? Its not just Rich but you do see him a lot in the video muscle snatching smooth as silk the whole time.

  4. Nice improvement, I'll be redoing today as well, really hoping to get over 300, got 270 Friday morning, I just took way too many/long breaks, I gotta cut down the transition time and I think I can get another rd, gonna have to go to that dark place.

Attempt #2 ~ 317 or 318...waiting to check the video for the last D/U that counted!
That is +10/+11 from Friday Test! Good, but not Great...
Lower Back is smoked...and I can sure feel it with only one day between tests.
Just do not want to ReDo before school on Mondays, so I will be testing Friday and ReTest on Sunday's...

Great job to everyone so far and good luck to all those still retesting...You know you can pull a few extra reps (maybe even a Round) out of the retest!!!

Thanks Coach for all your programming!!!
Thanks to the comment board for all the motivation and support!!!

  7. Redid it today, but came up short, ended with 270. My first effort, although I got 285, some of the c&js were a little suspect for full extension at the top. So I tried to make sure I had full reps today. Really wanted to improve and get 300, but it just wasn't there. Did it at the box today, and DUs were on a different (oly
lifting) surface and that threw me off a bit. But no excuses, conditioning was still my limiter. Oh well, onto the next wod. Great effort Josh for that improved score!

  8. Improved by 1 so final score is 265. Mixed in some c&j this time but my limiting factor was just too much rest when I dropped and too many drops.

  9. HOUSTON...we may have a problem. I just re-did 14.1 and although I did better, I'm not sure how I should submit my new score. Upon review, I realize that I mistakenly only did 29 reps in my last round of DUs! So, while I moved on and completed 9 reps of snatches for (what I thought was) a score of 264...it should actually be 263!

According to the rules, this is only a minor penalty and the video is still valid, but I'm just wondering if I should enter 264 and have a judge change it to 263, or be proactive and just enter 263. Anyone care to comment? I can't find anything in the rule book that suggests the proper course of action. The funny thing is that I passed the judges course and should probably know what to do!

I have been following Comp-wod since September of 2013. I have seen so many gains it is not even funny! Thanks so much Ben for the help

Friday night I did 14.1 at CF Mayhem. Got to watch the champ score 444 up close and personal. I was in town for an Athlete Cell camp. I forgot my rope and I think the adrenaline got to me a little. My question is: My first score is 360 reps. I have been watching the leaderboard and right now that puts me in an 11 way tie for 41st in my region. I missed on dubs about 6 times. Should I do the workout over and try for more reps which, if I got 15 more dubs I would be tied for 31st? Or just accept the score as is and get ready for the next wod. I'm pretty shot after the camp and will be driving all day tomorrow. Any input will be greatly appreciated!

    1. Joey, congrats dude, that's a sick score regardless. Definitely be happy with it, but if you can give yourself an honest assessment and know with a few tweaks to your game plan that you can beat that score, I don't see anything wrong with doing it again. Your 41st tie may very well become a tie for 50th or 60th come end of day tomorrow with additional submissions.

Every repeat should have a specific goal or goals to improve your score. If your body can't handle it, well you gave it a good shot. Don't read too much into it.

    2. Thanks Chris. I missed on dubs about six times, thats something I never miss on. Also, I want to try to do some C&J to break up the movements some. Im shooting for 375 tomorrow
