Victoria was a teacher for 5 years.
The tragedy happened in room 10.
She was killed on 12-14-12.
She was 27 years old.
She was a CrossFitter and a true Hero.
Classy move Ben, well done
ReplyDeleteFirst I've heard that she was a crossfitter. I will spread the word and try to get some others to join in the effort tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteNice. Extra motivation today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. We are doing this at CrossFit Cape Cod in her honor tomorrow.

ReplyDelete22:08...RIP victims of Sandy Hook.

ReplyDeleteThought SDHP would be the rest- wrong. Thrusters were the easiest for me as weird as that sounds.
20:21
ReplyDeleteIa cold weather chokin you too??
Deletenot my best day..no excuses. lol
DeleteSmh slapped me with that card haha
DeleteSorry buddy, but I promised myself awhile back no excuses no matter what, no negativity, nothing to throw me off mentally!
DeleteAnd I only say that to help bro. Not to be a prick. But hand rips, I felt sick, it's cold, it's hot, just excuses that only bring you down! Keep killing it bro!!
DeleteNO excuses - ever.
DeleteAs Bill Parcells has said, "you are what your record says you are." Before Parcells joined a team a common feeling among players were that they weren't as good or bad as there record said. Teams would have a record of 3 and 5, but say they were better than that. "We lost one game because our starting QB was out and we lost another game because of a terrible call by the ref that cost us the game, so we should be 5 and 3 and in first place." NOT TRUE. No excuses.
If you "could have" or "should have" got one more round in that amrap, or 10 more pounds on your 1RM snatch then why didn't you. It's not because of the cold, the equipment, the running route or the judge.
There are no excuses - you are what your record says you are.
Like Taylor said, never give yourself an out - don't think of excuses, don't say excuses - Ever.
My thoughts exactly! Today, I was 20:21 on the wod, that's how good I was today! Who know what tomorrow or the next day will bring, one wod, one rep at a time! Now let's buckle up and get busy!!!
DeleteRight on Taylor

ReplyDeleteThis one felt a little different compared to all the other Hero Wods, probably because it hit closer to home then some of the others. R.I.P and prayers to everyone effected by these tragic events.

ReplyDeleteIt takes a certain kind of person to do what she did. my thoughts are with her friends and family. What a tragedy. I love crossfit peace to the game and all its players
25:44rx. Weak time but I finished. The last round I just kept repeating my 6 yr olds name. Rip to the victims of this tragedy.
ReplyDelete27:14 hurt my knee missing a box jump on thursday so I did step ups and instead of thrusters did KB clean & jerk 45ea.

Delete23.44. Feel pretty good about it after the stomach virus feeling I had yesterday.
ReplyDelete20:21... Not my best performance which pisses me off when it something where motivation should not have been lacking...
ReplyDelete21:15 and it was not my best day. The thought that go me through was that I could take 20mins of pain for the victims. Great idea Ben and God bless those teachers, the families and the victims.
