  2. 243, was done with wall balls@ 8:10 took me over 3 minutes to do DUs. Was not expecting that at all. Hopefully my legs will be ready for Sunday to do again.

  3. Sooo yeah, I'm going to one and done this wod. Last year I was sore for a good week or so afterwards. So my one shot will be this upcoming Saturday. I *KNOW* that I will beat my score from last year (I'd link video, but youtube is blocked at work), which was an intimidating 153! I've gotten better at wallballs, and I've gotten better at double-unders. If I can get through the wall balls fast enough, I don't see why I won't get to the muscle-ups, but I haven't re-visited anything close to this since 12.4

  4. 2012: 240. No muscle ups. 2013: 244. 4/7 attempts at MUs. Finished Wall Balls 7:22 PR. 1 minute PR from last year.

I think I rushed my DUs, ended at 9:39, and MUs. Didn't get enough air in between.

Not looking forward to the redo, but gotta do it.

    Last year on 12.4: 148

Redid 12.4 about two months ago and got 270. So I will be going for this one again on Sunday to try and get 1 full round in.

  8. Just realized you didn't have to turn out at the bottom. Wtf!? Might have been able to squeeze out a few more but I'm happy with my performance considering i spent all last weekend drinking ;) it was well worth it

  11. Going to have to make this a one and done on saturday. My hockey team upset the number 1 seed to continue our playoff run to the finals. My legs are pretty gassed from the game last night.

May do an abbreviated run at it today. Maybe 50 wallballs, 90 du's (they're my biggest strength) and some mu's. last year i had about 1:30 left and only got 3 mu's. failed on probaby 3 or 4. Definitely hoping to improve there.

    Good luck everyone

  12. Anyone know if non-dynamax medicine balls allowed? The typical ones you'd find at a globo gym? One shot at this one wouldnt want my video rejected..

    1. Yes they are. 2 years ago in the open i used a basketball filled with sand. i just put it on a scale first to show the weight. I have a non dynamax ball now and i would say just make sure you show the weight somehow.

  14. 253. Same exact score as last yr. 5:30 ish Karen, 7:08 through du's, and then 5 minutes of staring at the rings. Oh well.
Awesome atmosphere at CFNE today with chris spealler in for a visit. Unbelievable to watch

Impressive performances by Montoya and Rachel today too. Nice job team!

  17. Didn't do 12.4 last year, so did partial today to see how it felt. ME wall balls 2:00 (40 seconds on, 10 off) = 60 then 50 DU's then 3-2-2 MU's. Even that short burst was a dose I wasn't expecting. Hopefully it helped to prime the full workout tomorrow at our gym.

Anyone have any strategies they suggest?

  18. I have to work mentally on this one. I let myself freak out... Got 240 early (8:01) - and had a solid five attempts at MU - nearly broke my heart because I just couldn't lock out. So... I know what I need to do on Sunday. Even though it is hard to watch the clock wind down, I will let myself rest 45sec to 1 min before even attempting a MU. I CAN DO THEM. I did one before leaving today just to rub salt in my wound :) Any tips or pointers for someone who can do MU, just not that well, yet? :)

  19. We'll get a cheat sheet out soon and I'm guessing Ben will do a video too, but in the meantime check out mobilitywod for kstars tips

  20. 247, 7 more than last year. BUT, I finished DU's at 9:30, last year it was 11:50. No repped on about 10 wall balls so this Sunday 250+

    1. 8:11 Karen (with the 10 no reps), 10:14 DU's.

I took 7 days off and didn't do anything, my quads are absolutely demolished but I can't wait to do better on Sunday. I'm still a huge noob on MU's and this is the first time I've done wall ball basically since 12.4. Onward and upward!

  21. Did this today despite cold windy conditions (my setup for this is outside, no choice). Hands were Popsicles, couldn't feel the ball and was really dry and slippery. Was mentally sapped too, so cold during the setup and trying to beat sunset. Went out too hard, didn't pace the wall balls even though that was my strategy. Wanted to give up half way through wallballs, but kept going. Have never quit on a WOD so wasn't about to. Only got 216 reps. Still beat last years score of 168, but I couldn't do DUs at all last year. Wall balls took me 10:28 (about the same as last year), was hoping for 8 minutes. Will have to see what Sunday brings. Good job y'all.

Came off double unders at 10:35
Got eaten alive by damn wall balls.
Sunday is all about 260 with a pacing strategy for the wall ball buy in.

Very happy with this score. My legs are smoked don't think I'll be able to do this on again on Saturday.

  25. 250 (8:39 tiebreaker) PR

DUs took too long - 5:58 at end of wall balls. That said, last year I did 201 during 12.4, so DUs have come a long way, and I have MUs now.

    1. Thanks Paulo! I'm not content, but I have to keep reminding myself where I was a year ago and be thankful for where I am today.

BTW, the custom leaderboard now had editing capability so when I get a chance I'll add you in there along with the others that posted their names after I had created the longer list.

    2. You also held the transition position on one of your attempts during the WOD for a solid 20 seconds. It was like the Danny Noonan putt at the end of Caddyshack and I'm certain that on Sunday you will get that ball in the hole!

  32. First time ever doing Karen since I have only been doing this for 6 months now.
Got 245 with a 9:42 tie break. I felt pretty good about it, but I'm definitely going to redo and go all out! Great numbers from everyone! Keep it up!

  36. 251, 6:29 tie breaker. 4 rep improvement from last year. Went down to near sea-level from the normal 7000' training elevation. That + a great environment= a bit of redemption. Finally an Open workout that I can walk away from happy! Not doing that one again.
