  9. Ben-
Thank you for all you do for so many folks, many of whom you will probably never meet. I have used you as my coach because programming for myself is difficult. Thank you for taking that stressor out! :) I don't know my standing from last year, except I know it wasn't memorable...wasn't in the running for much of anything. Climbing from nothing in 2013 to 21 in the North East in 2014...definitely memorable! Thank you.
    This year:
    Region: North East
Open finish 2014 NorthEast Masters: 21
Open finish 2014 world Masters: 154
I believe I now have to do 4 wods in 4 days...and need your support system still. So thank you again, in advance.

Just wanted to say thanks for the programming and the community as well. I seriously love waking up, having some coffee, and reading what the workout is and seeing the results so far. Since I am on the west coast, by the time I finish coaching my 6am group there are usually two dozen or more posts already.

I had an injury right before the Open and I really feel that this programming created a great deal of balance and strength. My PT said I would not be able to complete the first workout, but I recovered weeks faster than I should have. I did the regionals work just because I spend the first and last 2 hours of my day coaching various groups and sports. I usually can squeeze it all in. I don't have a coach since I live at the beginning of the world. Thanks again!

Open 2015. Exploring options for Team in 2015 but I am unaffiliated so I'm not sure what I can do there. Overall, just gunning to be a well-rounded competitor without any glaring weaknesses.

Ben, when I bought a house it made it unreasonable for me to continue training with CrossFit King of Island Park. Although I still keep in touch with them and train from time to time, your blog has given me the outlet I need since starting to follow on Sept 1st, 2013. I built a home garage gym and use your blog every day that it does not conflict with my job with the fire department of new york, and even then I often come home late and get some work in or get in early and use the gym at work. I follow the Regionals programming because I enjoy the extra volume. I am thoroughly enjoying the work you schedule for us and how it targets a broad spectrum of weaknesses consistently. I'm excited for this year's improvements. Thank you. http://instagram.com/p/mJIjsRM4QL/

2013 for 6 months myself and my training partner Leon Uptegrove followed comp WOD, placed very well in the open that year.
After the open we took programming into our own hands and this year placed worse. Lesson learned, I cannot self program.
3+ weeks back on comp WOD and I'm feeling better than ever. Trusting in Ben and thriving on the community and push from everyone who follows. I firmly believe I have what it takes to be a regional contender ESPECIALLY under your leadership Coach Ben.

I started following this programme in December 2013 ready for the Battle of London competition in January 2014. After qualifying in 89th my goal was to come top 60 and I surpassed my expectations with a 32nd place finish, also being the youngest competitor there (20).

After the battle of London my aim was to come top 75 In the open and although I was dissappointed with my first 2 weeks performances I managed to turn it round and qualify in 37th place.

Before competitors wod I couldn't string together more than 2 or 3 muscle ups and my work capacity for multiple workouts consisting of different modal domains was poor. However I noticed a difference within the first 2 weeks, and started to feel as though I could PB in many areas. As an example, Snatch work in particular took me from a 90kg snatch to a 105kg snatch in a couple of months.

I would like to thank you Ben as I don't feel as though I would be in te position I am in now without your programming.

The fact you make this accessible to everyone reinstates the awesome community that we crossfitters have.

Hopefully in 6 weeks time I can comment about some form of success at the European regional.

This may look like a dramatic drop, but I am extremely proud of what I accomplished at (now) 17 weeks pregnant. In 14.1, I placed 61st in the region - and in 14.5, I placed 119th. Both workouts were my wheelhouses (light weight, cardio) - so I know that if I could BREATHE a little easier (I didn't realize how pregnancy tends to take that out of you quite a bit!), I know I would have placed MUCH higher.

I did not do so well on the chipper (14.4) (my abs felt like they were "separating" - it was a strange feeling...so TTB felt slooow. And, my CTB pull-ups have always been weak...so I struggled on 14.2 (and I would have no matter what). If anyone has any tips, please send it my way!

I didn't go as "hard" on the deadlift workout as maybe I could have, but I was trying to be smart - so I was happy with my score.

Anyway - I still made it in the top 10% of my region. I know what I REALLY need to focus on going forward. My goal/plan: continue to workout throughout the duration of this pregnancy as rigorous as I can - and come back 200% better for the 2015 Open. I am now coaching at a CrossFit gym - so I have access to coaching more readily again (yeah!) - and I am going to be a "stay-at-home mom" after this school year (I am a high school English teacher). I know that the 2015 Open season will be COMPLETELY different. So, my goal: be the most healthy and fit mom that I can be :) Oh - and place in the top 100 in the Mid-Atlantic region for 2015.

I want to say THANK YOU to all Athletes posting their results which helps to rate yourself, and inspires to become Faster, Higher, Stronger. For me it seems to be the genuine CrossFit Community. So thank you guys and Good Luck to all those Regionals athletes and Masters200.

  45. Ciao Ben!

I have not posted on here before and for that I apologize. My training is very inconsistent due to military training, but follow as best as I can. My wife and I moved to Italy with the Army last March during the first week of the 2013 Open. With a bit of luck in timing, shortly thereafter, we assumed control of the programming for a military non-profit affiliate called Crossfit Vicenza in Vicenza, Italy, and used this site as a guide. I would like to give a big thanks for helping us make a monster improvement as a team this year!

    CF Vicenza, 2013 - 124th in Europe
    2014 - currently 43rd in Europe

Not sure how everything will shake out in the next couple weeks, but I think we still have an outside shot at getting into the top 30. Qualifying a team for this years regionals was a lofty goal of ours. So if it works out, Team regionals. If not 2015 Open.

As for individually, I made a drastic improvement, and my wife a pretty big one as well.

I did not train at all from the end of the Open last year until August. After 3-4 months of literally no activity I jumped back into Crossfit with CompWOD in August (that hurt). While my percentile/placings did not show drastic improvements...I have come a long way. Though I am definitely in a Beastly type body (5'11" 215#), my best performance this year was in 14.2 full of chest to bars, a movement that has always been one of my worst. I also got my first Open Workout muscle up this year in 14.4, no longer do I make it to the rings just to stare at them for a few minutes!

2015 should shape up to be a full year of CompWOD and I expect to improve drastically and hopefully help our team get to regional's.

    Thanks for the awesome programming!

My lungs got much better with your programming, my strength probably stayed about the same and my skills got better. This year the OHS wod killed me as that lift and my lack of mobility kill me. However, through your programming it has improved 200%. If 95# ohs was in the 2013 open I would not have gotten many. This year I could do 10 unbroken it just took a lot out of me as I am fighting every rep.

I've been following compwod since October of 2013. I've made some incredible gains because of it. All my lifts have gone up, got my first muscle up the first week of the Open and have become much more efficient at a lot of movements. The personal goals I had set for myself for this years Open was to make top 1000 and or be in the top 25%. Making top 100 was a pipe dream. I exceeded both of these. 2013 I was in the last 68%. This year that improved to top 21% out of a little over 3800 women.
The big thing I need to improve on is a bigger engine and get my lifts up even more. Regionals in 2015 or 2016 is the ultimate goal which is acheivable with this amazing programming. Big thank you to Ben for providing it!

Don't know what happened. Performance went way down after February. I qualified 10th right behind Lacee Kovacs for Central European Throwdown, felt absolutely great. Then I got Tonsillitis which knocked me out of the competition. Was down for a week. Haven't been right since. I'm guessing stress from losing my job and going through the process of starting my own box - CrossFit Yggdrasil in Oslo, Norway - had something to do with it. Dunno. Feet forward. ;)
We follow CFNE at my box and I'm looking to punch 2015 square in the mouth. Got a whole crew of us there that follow CompWOD like religion and are already hard at work for next year. Built by Bergeron baby!

Disappointed to drop off a little bit, but percentile-wise I was basically the same. After 5 years of CF, big improvements are tough. But this year was also a challenge with my son being born in November, which meant a lot more days in the garage training alone. Also missed a month due to a back injury, so I can't complain about my finish too much.
Biggest weakness is still just purely conditioning - no workout in particular killed me, but engine still isn't there to hang with the big dogs.

This year's Open workouts were less than ideal for me personally, whereas last year was right in my wheelhouse. On 14.1 (not a great one for me), I improved 37 reps since last fall when this came up on the site. I also improved my snatch by 15 lbs. this year, which is the same amount I had increased in the past 3 years combined. My toes-to-bar are absolutely improved, and my double-unders are totally locked in now.

I could go on, but I'll just echo what others are saying: I know I got better this year.

This is my first time posting on CompWOD but I have been following since November, usually a day to a week behind due to scheduling around my work and coaching schedule.

Ben- thank you very much for providing this incredible, free resource. I have to take the next few weeks off to prepare for a physical fitness test but once I'm back following I'm going to be much more active posting here.

Thanks for everything, and good luck to those competing at Regionals!

Ben, I can't thank you enough for the this site and your programming! I have been following the last 8 months but only post sporadically. I have seen an enormous gain in my work capacity and I had my highest 2014 Open finish on 14.4 at 145th place. Now I need to work on getting stronger and gaining a little mass to go along with it. We have about a dozen people at my gym jumping on this with me for next year when we make a run at Team. Thanks again and good luck to those moving on!

Thank you for your programming! I have seen a big difference in my Open Performance from 2013. Actually, most of my Open scores were between the high 40's and low 60's except for 14.3. I was in the mid 800s on that one which dropped me significantly. Thanks for your help!

Didn't realize until yesterday how close I was to making the top 200 when one of my coaches told me. So many if onlys, namely redoing 14.3. But now that I know, I'm going to actually try in 2015 to make that top 200.

Luckily, not only do I follow the Comp Programming, but I get to train at CFNE directly with Ben and our phenomenal coaches. 2014 is going to be completely starting from scratch and rebuilding my form (or more accurately, fixing all my bad habits). No better time to start than now.

Thanks Ben! And looking forward to 2015.
