I thought I'd "scale" by starting at 60kg (55%1rm), managed to do the first round unbroken but there was no way I'd be able to maintain unbroken at 60.

  11. Regionals (kinda):

I don't really know what to think about today. Just looking at how much I had to scale, I would typically look at today as a failed session. Yet, I feel quite the opposite. I am really pleased with what I accomplished. This stuff is so weird sometimes.

    1. Scaled weights to 135, 165, 185, 205, didn't go unbroken on the cleans after the third round at 135 and only did 3 muscle ups per minute instead of five, but damn, I feel good about this. Maybe, I am getting soft.
    2. After a small break, worked up to 315. 205,225,245,265,285,305,315. It seems like a long time since I have had any weight on my back.
    3. Holy crap, this was miserable. 11:06 Rx.
    4. Ran out of time for the rowing. At this point, I was kinda looking forward to it. I will do it tomorrow on my active recovery day.

Congrats to all of you who slogged through today. So many awesome athletes and people on here.

6:42 - I treated this as an EMOT2M and I am happy with the results, but don't think I could have done much more weight - I just about got through my last set!

    I hope we're recovering tomorrow...

  13. So...I did a little weird makeup today since I had a weird day yesterday.

did regionals snatch EMOM from yesterday with no misses (did three at 205 per round just to do it)

After that did 10X 3MU+250M row/1min rest....working time was 10:22...rower took a bit to reset and strap in each round. Good workout.

Going to do the front squats this afternoon, and some power clean work....I'll post it when I can.

need to fit in a little endurance work.....maybe a road march or vest/plates run tomorrow.

    1. Power clean and muscle up - 115/125PC and 75/100MU (found the 225 the easiest, think it's more my endurance with my grip strength and my form changes after a certain amount of reps causing fatigue to set in faster - lowest set in MU was 3reps, happy with this score for now)

    Session Two
    1. Squat - worked up to 158kg (349lb)

    Session 1:

Muscle ups scaled to 2 UB for first two 5min EMOMs and then down to single reps because dips were getting slow and ugly.

    Session 2: (rested 3 hours)
    1. Built up to 195#
    2. Did 20/20/20 with 24# weighted vest
    3. Rowed under 1:57/500m the whole time

  26. Session 1:
Had to shut it down in the last 2 minutes of muscle ups due to ripped hands. Otherwise completed as rx'd. 125/125 and 90/100.

Frustrated as I really wanted to complete this one. Besides the rips it was a great session for me.

    Session 2:
    1. 245, 255, 265, 275, 285, 295, 305
Haven't box squatted in a few years. Didn't do a true box squat, more like a rack/pin squat below parallel to work on keeping an upright chest which is a huge problem of mine.

  56. This would have been 4 straight WOD days and with a rest tomorrow I took the liberty to try and test some strength numbers.

  58. Team practice evening... first did the following:
    1. 7x2 Box Squats @ 185# this felt relatively easy, could have gone heavier

    2. Did a bit of a combo of the rowing/ring dips:
    5 rounds of:
    250m row
    5 Ring dips

    3. Then in teams (4 females/3 males)- chase WOD (cannot move onto to next movement until person in front is finished)
Five 4min AMRAPS (1min rest in between):
    7 PC @ 135/95#
    5/3 Muscle Ups
    8 Burpees
    1 Box Jump @ 36/30"

the following rounds the PC changes to the following:
    6 PC @ 155/105#
    5 PC @ 185/115#
    4 PC @ 205/135#
    3 PC @ 225/155#

All in all a solid WOD with the team... burpees were the hardest for me, did all MU and PC unbroken.

    1. Chris, are you following West Side? I have just started CompWod this week and I am wondering if I should add a strength workout as well or just stick with the Open program.

    3. To be honest Matt - I'm just messing around - my strength numbers are pretty poor (compared to the beasts on this site) so I've added in some basic strength work before each WOD - Ben programs more than enough volume to get strong BTW so it's likely a bad idea ...

  65. Regionals-

Pretty ashamed to even type this, but know I have to be honest. Today was a "make-up" day, as I am a day behind from travel over the weekend.

Ripped in two places yesterday on my left hand from the snatches, and created a blood blister on my right hand. Taped up before going into the power clean & muscle-up extravaganza-

Got through all the rounds at 135, but didn't use hook grip as it hurt to grip the bar that closely. Forearms on fire, but I got through the first 5min of muscle-ups UB, but tape started coming off. Took it off going into the 185, and then my hand with the blood blister popped. After first set of 7, hands were done. Quit right then and there. Admittedly, definitely not the mental fortitude needed to perform at Regionals.

Going to take off the rest of the day, try to let my hands heal tomorrow and come back Saturday ready to go. Any feedback would be nice. Crazy to see how many of you got VERY close to finishing all 100 muscle-ups/125 cleans. IMPRESSIVE to say the least!!!

  66. Modified/Adapted due to work yest and soccer practice last night:
    Yesterday: 4x15 FS @ 185# at work, w/rack: 6:52
Today: Regionals Clean&MU. I need the MU work badly. MUs started terrible, got stronger as work out went on.
Clean: 124/125 ub. Missed #5 of 5th in 205 due to lack of concentration.
MUs: 33/40 Goal = 2 emom/ub if possible. Rough start. Singles, then ub doubles after 205#s. How I got better as workout went on I don't know.

Today was one of those days. Wow, what a wod. The 1st session really showed how much work I still need to do. It felt bummed with the results but keep thinking positive and moving forward.
    1. 135 check
5/5/4/3/3 . Started going down hill from here
    185 (7,5,4,4,4)
5/3/2/2/2 . Need a lot more work on my muscle ups when I'm fatigued.
Tore my hands on the last set of muscle ups on the round of 185 so I decided to call it.

    2. In the afternoon did 2 team wods for practice for a local competition I'm competing in on May 3rd.

Cant wait to get back at it, and keep working to get better.

  71. Really enjoyed the Regionals Clean MU work. It really pushed me. My clean max is only 165 so I scaled the weights. 95/105/115/135. I did as many UB MUs as I could each round. Got 30 total.
